Pirin
Pirin is the second highest mountain in Bulgaria with the highest peak being Vihren (2917 m.). Pirin is situated in the south-western part of the Rilo-Rhodope massif. The climate of Pirin is mainly Mediterranean. It is devided into three parts - Northern Pirin, Mid Pirin and Southern Pirin. Northern Pirin is the highest, the biggest and the most visited of the three.
All glacial lakes in Pirin are situated here. The biggest lake is Popovoto 124 decares. It is also the deepest. Mid Pirin is the smallest part of the mountain. The highest peak is Orelyak (2099 m.).
